Dr. Dee Tipton

Dr. Tipton is the Director of Physical Therapy. Dr. Tipton received her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy and Master of Public Health Degree from the University Of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She also has Doctoral Degrees in Theology and Divinity. She recently retired from 25 years of service with the National Athletic Trainer’s Association. Dr. Tipton has an extensive background in teaching at the University level as well as many years of experience treating Olympic and Professional Athletes and the weekend warrior. Her clients have included professional tennis players, Olympic softball players, gymnasts, dancers, and a variety of athletes of all ages and levels of competition. Dr. Tipton specializes in Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Rehabilitation and Women’s injuries. She is active in the local Claremont Chamber of Commerce activities. Dee is a member of the California Physical Therapy Association and has been a long time member of the American Physical Therapy Association. She recently relocated from Oklahoma to Southern California. Outside of Physical Therapy Dee enjoys Oklahoma football, outdoor activities, religion, and spiritual philosophies.

Dr. Guillermo Escalante

Dr. Guillermo Escalante received his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from the University of La Verne. Shortly thereafter, he became a certified athletic trainer/strength and conditioning specialist. In 1999, Dr. Escalante completed an MBA with concentrations in Healthcare Management and Marketing. He returned to school in 2004 and completed a doctorate in Athletic Training with an emphasis in rehabilitation in 2012. Dr. Escalante is currently the Director of Fitness and Wellness at Edge PT and is an assistant professor of kinesiology at California State University San Bernardino. His research focuses on performance enhancement, sports nutrition, and injury prevention. He has authored several peer reviewed publications and over 50 articles in Muscle & Fitness, MuscleMag, and Bodybuilding.com. He also serves as a guest lecturer in the sports rehabilitation sciences at local universities and has treated and/or trained athletes from novices to pros since 1997. In addition to his expertise working with patients and athletes, Dr. Escalante remains active as an athlete as a national level bodybuilding competitor.

Crystal Trento

Crystal Trento has been working as a licensed massage therapist for the past twenty years. Crystal comes from a medical background bringing knowledge and experience to our clients at Edge PT. She also has thirteen years of extensive experience in health care at as a Physical Therapy Tech in sports medicine rehabilitation. Crystal provides professionalism and dedication to the company and patient care. She continues to work in the Physical Therapy field to improve her knowledge and skills. Her specialty is in Therapeutic Massage. Crystal is also skilled in various forms of massage such as: sports, deep tissue, Swedish, pregnancy, and acupressure.

Josh Whited

Josh is a physical therapy tech and personal trainer at Edge PT. He received a degree in kinesiology from California State University San Bernardino and is certified as a strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Josh was a former collegiate baseball player and has a passion for helping others in reaching their health and fitness goals. Josh works with athletes and non-athletes alike and is skilled at encouraging Edge PT clients to redefine their limits.

Gynnae Romo

Gynnae is a personal trainer at Edge PT and works with a variety of clients. She received a degree in kinesiology from California State University San Bernardino and is certified as a personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in kinesiology at California State University Fullerton. Gynnae is an avid weightlifter and brings knowledge, passion, and motivation to the clients of Edge PT. Gynnae is skilled at working with various populations and people with different goals.

Jen Tave

Jen is a nutritionist at Edge PT. As a nutrition therapist, coach and competitive runner, she believes that optimal health can be achieved through mindful nutrition and exercise. She received a Masters in Human Nutrition from Colorado State University where she focused her research on dietary modulation of the gut microbiota and its implications on weight regulation. She also completed training in holistic health and nutrition, receiving certification as a Nutrition Therapy Practitioner (NTP). Jen strives to empower others to find balance in their lives through sharing her knowledge and personal experiences in the field of nutrition and exercise. She believes that a variety of foods in their most natural form can help people go from illness to health and from simply living to thriving.
